La Jassine Côtes du Rhône Villages Red Rhone Blend

In 1992, Charles Bieler’s father, Philippe Bieler, founded Chateau Routas in Coteaux Varois a small appellation in the middle of Provence. Deep purple with a medium+ nose of black fruits, cedar and spice for this Grenache and Syrah blend. On the palate dry, medium+ acidity with flavors of black currants, blackberry and black pepper with notes of black pepper and oak. Medium finish, with soft ripe tannins, overall good balance. Drink now!

This CDR is comprised of 63% Grenache and 37% Syrah. Made from fruit grown in the village of Valreas, where its north+west facing vineyards on the high slopes above the valley floor balance the dark berry flavors with a certain elegance.
The Stiffler's mom of wine, thick, busty but with an alluring finesse.

N8, 60% Grenache, 40 Syrah. Very good for price. Bit jammy and high in alc but quaffable. Not good second day AT ALL

Lovely classic Rhone. Graphite, saddle, and ripe blackberries on the nose. OMG this is good. Rich and full...flavor explosion in the mouth. Silky smooth with loads of fruit. Well balanced and strong, but yet a vanishing quality to it. And yikes, 15.3 alcohol content, but it doesn't seem like it. This is the best Rhone we've had in a while, and better than the 16 Bieler.

Far too young now— needs a couple more years to age and mellow. For the impatient: Decant thoroughly.

Excellent body. A little funk on the nose, spices, and earth. Great second bottle.
