Dark ruby in color with aromas of dark cherry, plum, and mushroom. On the bud, it has a bit of tartness with a short/medium finish. Nothing new flavor wise with moderate tannins. This bottle is likely declining slightly.

Not bad but not compelling. Plum and black cherry, warm black tea, a touch of black licorice candy, underlying earth. A little sweet, but dry, with fine velvety black tea tannins. Light in body from good acid but heavier impact due to high alcohol, which kind of mutes all secondary flavors.
