Bevan Cellars
Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Dark ruby with near opaque core; slightly glass clinging. Big abundant nose of black cherry jam and red apple peel. Full bodied palate echoes the nose adding a sweet-ish earthy marzipan element. Brief hint of oak st the beginning (per my dining partner). Very low tannins. Medium acidity. Finish is moderately long. Excellent food Pinot Noir from the king of big boned reds.

Mar 17th, 2017First Bevan PN. I drink a fair amount of PN. Not much different than the Patz & Hall PN. Gamey meat on the nose and plum paste. Nice. Lush full throttle mouthfeel, reminds me of the Pisoni fruit-wild berries, mocha makes a nicely layered profile across the palate. The finish is the show, and it's big. Tannins integrate masterful flashing minerals and smoked berries.

Dec 24th, 2016Visually, you can see the deep degree of extraction. The nose is dense, with nutmeg, cloves, sweet sandalwood and barrel toast. Palette is regal and deftly balanced. Predominantly morello cherries, tobacco, with a subtle hint of mint. Tannins provide a wonderful structure and balance. Bevan has the Midas touch.
