I've had this wine many times over the past 30 years but never enjoyed it as much as I have this evening. Many 1985s showed great from barrel but many closed up within a year or two from release... some for decades. Ripe, black cherry, silky earthy tannins. Long satisfying finish.

Brown color with orange edges. Coffee, strawberry, truffles and a little mustiness on the nose. Unfortunately, the wine was past peak and a little too tired with just simple notes of orange peel on the light tannin palate.
