Rich and velvety. Nose is almost port-like, minus the spiritiness. Dark sweet berry juice, cigar box, and dark chocolate. Mouthfilling and ripe. Huge fruit, but not hot. It was the perfect accompaniment to a rich meat-sauced pasta.

Boozy aroma, supple mouthfeel, black currant on the palate, with a velvety, medium-long finish.

Opaque reddish purple core fading to amber rim. Dark cherry, plum, raisins, and vanilla on the nose. Medium bodied, soft, round, and fruity with good acidity. Blend of 60% Merlot and 40% Corvina made from dried fruit in the appassimento technique like Amarone. While it lacks depth and complexity, it was a pleasant and easy drinking accompaniment to a stromboli.

Essentially an average Amarone for $15...not bad at all!

Dried fruit forward, not surprising given how this wine is made. Medium acid and medium high tannins.

Wine shop suggested as an amarone alternative. Honestly as good or better than amarones I've had. Really enjoyed.
