Feb 11th, 2015One of the best SVD Beringer I've had in a while. It says everything from dark roasted black and blue fruits on the nose and entry. Mulling spices, chocolate, Espresso bean. Very dense. Tannin has resolved slightly, giving a little more depth and roasted character and black pepper spice to the finish. Gonna seek out more of these SVD Beringer Cabs. The prices for current releases are a little bit unrealistic IMO, but these can be found on the secondary market for extremely competitive prices.

Each sip takes me back to the Rhine House tasting! Right from the nose you can tell this wine will be full. The oak shines with some dark fruit trying to peak through. Full-bodied, great and powerful tannin structure, smooth black currant, and a hint of vanilla. Could age for decades easily.

Disappointed from the first taste.. Nice nose but lacking in structure.. I will let it sit to see if something positive happens.
