Private Reserve Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

Another 4th Friday for the books, and one of the best of the year!

Prunes and cranberry; acidity and tannin have fallen off; tertiary flavors carry it...old cedar; muddled strawberry tart and old red licorice. Its best days are behind it, but it’s still got life.

On the downslope but still a great nod to the staying power of well made Napa Cabernet. Harmonious and fun but it has lost a great deal of its sexy curves. Like an opened Coca Cola on day 2 after you grab it from the fridge.

Last Friday was our normal 4th Friday happy hour at the storage facility, but since this month had 5 Fridays, why not keep the party going?!

Dried cherries, apricot, tiny bit of orange marmalade. It's by no means over the hill, but the palate and finish aren't lengthy...I'd drink up. Still, at 21yrs, hard to say this isn't impressive.

Still got it, nice fruit, acid, holding on an enjoyable Xmas

Really good and still somewhat youthful given its 20 year age.

Old 96er still got a ton of life left! Lots of fruit and really nice balance.

Back in the day, like the 85 to 2001 range, this wine was probably the best deal for the quality of any Napa wine. Yes ANY.

Still got some fruit left and delicious right now. Drink up

This is still drinking great.

Opens slowly, but a delightful wine. Give it 40 minutes or so and you'll be rewarded for your patience.
