‘Las Alturas' Spanish for 'the heights', a fitting name, this vineyard located on one of the highest grape-growing benches in the Santa Lucia Highlands AVA. 4th gen Winemaker Joseph J. Wagner from family with farming & winemaking roots in Napa since 1906. Met Joe on his recent trip to CT. Tried latest vintage! Deep Ruby (darkest Pinot I have come across). Nice berry and floral spice aromas. Rich cherry/plum flavors with oak, spice and vanilla. Lingering ending with sweet oak notes. Nice! A Fav!

Rich dark cherry and woodsmoke with hints of oak and vanilla. Lots of flavor but not overpowering.

It’s very deep. Like some wet velvet that is under a layer of rich soil. It has a surprising structure. Whoever is the winemaker is definitely someone who put love into this wine. I recommend it.

Very enjoyable Pinot noir. Drank more like a cab. Ate it with steaks at JC’s in Gilbert. Delicious!

A Pinot to remember. Delicate but elegant oak notes and a firm finish
