Bellavista
Satèn Franciacorta Chardonnay
Bready nose. Yeasty. Lemon. Quite broad. Lemon curd. Hint of florals. Some weird mushroom. Palate is very dry with a bit too much foam for me. Good cut but lack distinction. Major Cubic Zirconia vibes here. Elegant. Sappy. Average at best.

Oct 3rd, 2020Tart lemon, bread dough, pear, green apple, round but fine texture on the palate. No oak on the palate but texture from it. Medium acidity, medium+ finish and intensity. 100% Chard. Higher elevation, east facing slope. Oaked elevage. 5 years on lees.

Oct 1st, 2019The best of these rival Champagne for pure quality, without a doubt. I particularly love this 100% Chardonnay displaying intense minerality and beautiful, soft effervescence (Satén= less than 5 atmospheres pressure). Blossoms, stone fruit, hint of brioche. Wonderfully composed, pure and complex vintage blend.

Feb 19th, 2018Sitting on Lake Como, enjoying time with my family. I believe this is my first experience having a vintage Franciacorta. I am beyond impressed. 100% Chardonnay; Apple, baked pear and an almost imperceptible hint of sweetness, lightly yeasty, baked crust and apple blossoms. A pleasure to behold. Paired well with most everything on the table. Another reason for the Champagne region to take note! I would love a case of this.
