Pemberton Dry Riesling

2021 is delicious specially with sour cream and chilli red rock chips

Clean, light, lemony acidity.
Very good.

You know you’re in for a treat when a bottle of 09 Riesling shows up on your doorstep with its little sister - a 17 Riesling 🥰

Not to mention the 09 just picked up a gold at the Canberra International Riesling Challenge in the ‘Museum Class Vintage 2015 and Prior - Dry’ class.

Here are some fun facts about Bellarmine:

🥂 Bellarmine Wines is the only Pemberton winery rated 5 Red Stars by James Halliday. If you’re not aware the Pemberton wine region is in lower south-west region of Western Australia.

🥂 The design on the labels are etchings taken from antique Bellarmine jugs, used to store wine in Europe in the 16th century.

🥂 The wines are single vineyard wines which are all made from grapes grown on their vineyard in Pemberton.

So what did we think? Here are our notes:

2017
It’s a pale lemon shade. The nose is full of fresh citrus, Granny Smith apples, pears and there are some lovely floral notes in there too. While on the palate it’s fresh and zesty with a beautifully smooth finish. Yum!

2009
This one is definitely on the deeper end of the yellow-lime spectrum. And oh yes it has those delicious aged notes characteristics. The depth of the aromas are insanely enticing think rich stewed orchard fruits yet at the same time it’s refreshing and zesty too. Perhaps a bit of lime butter. In the mouth it’s smooth, rich and oh so moreish. Divine!
