A beauty. Nose of mid season cherry, spice, loads of Sangiovese earth. Very high toned and beautiful nose. Some hints of bittersweet cocoa. Palate is ripe and rich with terrific energy and a massive burst of mid season cherry and cherry flower. Big tannins and a slight rustic hint are there (14 showing its stuff) but it’s balanced, pure and energetic. Long as well.

Classic Sangiovese nose of wet earth, mid season cherry, cherry flower, caramel, bittersweet cocoa, so complex and inviting, mineral as well. A perfume. Terrific aromas. Palate is terrifically juicy and sweet with ripe mid season cherries and a hit of opulence late in the mid palate fans out on the finish before tannins firm up but sweet all the way through. Great freshness and really long. Needs 1 hour.

Incredibly smooth. A slight fruity taste. Smooth , plums, tannins perfect t. Seems ready now. Leather and some slight herb that I can not describe. Would buy again. Very very good.

Magnificent high altitude brunello. If you are missing out on this you are really messing up.

Nose is so elegant. Cherry liquor, cherry. As it opens hints of cocoa.

Palate is cherry, so silky. Spice. Wow. Texture is amazing. As it opens hints of savoriness.

Long silky finish.

As it opens this delicious silky elegant plum cherry thing.

Very nice, but wish I’d left it cellared another couple of years.

Maybe needs a couple more years, but this slightly underwhelmed after high expectations given how much I enjoyed their rosso. Decanted 3 hours, but this is still rather chunky and unintegrated with just the slightest bit of heat. Still a nice wine for sure with some very classic Sangiovese notes, but not quite singing.

Nose: lifting cherries. As it opens more deep and velvety.

Palate - elegant cherries. Such gorgeous sweet silky fruit. So fresh. Silky tanins. Savory. A bit meaty. Some plum.

He did a masterful job in a vintage that was critically panned.

I think people dont get brunello. There is so much on steroids brunello in the market everyone thinks it’s all like that. Not the case.

This is higher altitude brunello. No weightier than the average modern day barolo. It’s just Sangiovese instead of Nebbiolo. Honestly it’s almost middle of the Range for pommard. Not quite but it’s not far off.

Nose is almost licorice flower. Blackberry flower. Almost pommardian. As this opens so fucking beautiful. That blackberry flower licorice flower fusion.

Palate is such precise blackberry. Very linear and clean. Mineral. A hint of candied blackberry. Just a gorgeous hint. Expansive. Not thick at all. More silky texture like burgundy.

This is drinking well in one level but I feel like I killed it too young. In 5 years this might be epic.

As this opens - the fruit graciously takes a back seat. Almost some lavender on the nose. Palate is more about lavender and licorice flower. Yeah. You think you know brunello ? Nah. This is what it should be but ain’t. Pommard of Italy. Honestly 1er cru pommard in Density balance and aromatics. For 40% of the cost.

Still looking for the berry quality. Austere on the palate.

I had high hopes for this one - purchased during one of our trips to Italy. I enjoyed it but doesn't compare to others from the region.
