A warm Bastille Day, and I don’t own any French Rosé. An homage is the next best thing, and this was good one. Yes, 2011. Don’t ask me why I didn’t open this five years ago, but there it was. Still a little CO2 on opening and more salmon colored than pink. Reticent on the nose, but nice watermelon, orange zest and acidity on the palate. Wonderful with twice fried chicken wings. Still have a couple of the ‘12s and hope they show as well.

Bought this on auction not knowing what I would end up with. The color was still a vibrant light pink. On the palate I could tell some of the fruit notes have soften up a bit. I tasted watermelon, strawberry, and wild flowers. This was excellent for an almost 6 year old rose.

Loving this as an vintage close out deal from my local shop. Crisp minerals, subtle strawberries notes, vibrant and fresh.
