Damn that's good! If they grew zinfandel in Chateauneuf-du-pape...

Dark ruby color with brambly mixed black and red fruit and spice aromas. On the palate it's medium-bodied, and focused with creme de mure, black and red currant, black cherry, and spice with a very appealing minerality. Long finish. A field blend of Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, Alicante Bouchet, Grand Noir, Teroldego, Syrah, Black Muscat and Golden Chasselas. From 4.5 acres of wizened, stumplike, dry-farmed, head-trained red vines, which, planted in 1910, produce only half a ton per acre.

This is about as rich, dark and only as I can handle, buoyed by acidity and a fine and silky tannic finish. Oak mostly subsumed, blue fruit still in the fore. This is usually the most forward of the Bedrock Heritage blends

Got away with hiding a couple of modest bottles behind a row of Fetzer at a friend's holiday party last year, but not this time. This one was drained in five minutes. Glad I got a taste.

Mostly Zinfandel. A big wine. After it opens a bit, delicious.
