Areio e Vento e Amor Evangelho Vineyard Red Blend

Really fantastic with many years to become more refined. The 2022 Areio from Bedrock’s Evangelho vineyard is deep and dark and full of violet on the nose and light pinkish purple in the glass. It’s incredibly smooth then there’s a bite of red berry and a finish of leather and baking spice as you work through its structure.

The nose on the ‘21 Areio e Vento e Amor hits you from 5 ft away, full of ripe fruit but also chocolate, mushroom, and brush. It’s a translucent purple with a touch of Evangelho dusty-ness in the glass. Smooth and balanced with mild tannins at first, it opened up in the glass and alongside food to some intense berry jam and pepper flavors.

Grown up Hawaiian Punch in fruit profile and drinkability, but also a fine wine. Silky and aromatic (those sandy sandy soils!) A red you can have with fish according to my mother.

What a great wine. This field blend from a single block of the Evangelho vineyard is made up of Mataro, Zinfandel, and Carignan among others. It’s a dusty,deep purple in the glass with dark, subtle fruit in the nose. Full of dark fruit, a bit of berry it’s incredibly smooth and full bodied with enough twinge of acidity and mild tannins to give it great structure. Excellent.
