Very ripe, reminiscent of California pinots. Black fruit and spices. Still had nice acidity though. I didn't mind it.

The roses, light but very ripe bramble fruit, fresh earth and raw spices were fairly typical and not exactly out of balance, but the concentration was a bit much to call it elegant. The nice velvety texture got overwhelmed first by the very heavy body, then by noticeable heat that made me check the label for abv and, yep, sure enough: 14.8%. I'm not a low alcohol dogmatist, but that's unacceptable in Willamette Valley pinot. I'm grateful for the restrained oak presence, and I didn't NOT enjoy this, but this isn't one of their better efforts.
