Really opened up after about an hour. Just lovely balance of ripe cherry and tart acidity. Drink now or wait, but you won’t regret it now.

And that’s why BF is so worth it - 12 years in and it hasn’t even peaked yet. Beautiful.

Still alive. Smokey and structured, must be the 100% new French oak with heavy toast.

Made under the supervision of Dick Ponzi

Every BF with this amount of cold cellar time just over delivers. So balanced and complete, powerful and restrained. Multiple layers of black cherry, earthy minerality and light wood. Licorice and plum. Soft, dry finish.

Great start with strawberry and currant with a lengthy finish. Elegance of Oregon and at the winery they have pigs roaming so they salute the perfect pairing - pork and Pinot. Love Beaux Fréres.

Just starting to show some age. Dark fruit and mild tannins. Highly recommend the restaurant as well!

The 1996 Beaux Freres ‘The Beaux Freres Vineyard Pinot Noir (WWB, 91) is living out the end of its life in style. At this stage the wine was radically transformed with some air, providing really an hour of tertiary enjoyment with its peat moss, wild mushroom risotto and delicate cran-raspberry and lavender flavors. Beautiful, and refined, this is truly one of the best of this challenging vintage in the Willamette Valley that I have sampled. Drink 2019-2022- 91
