The '14 Guadalupe has a bit of mystique to it. The nose is intriguing, with a mix of fresh fir boughs and eucalyptus leaves wafting from the glass, with hints of mint, spice cake, and cherry kirsch. Dark cherries and blackberries lithely glide onto the palate, with hints of candied orange peel and black licorice unfolding into a spicy finish. Pretty and intriguing.

Dark ruby in color with dark fruits and spice on the nose. Dense, yet finely balanced fruit on the palate with slight delicate tannins. I get raspberry, strawberry, wet rocks and a touch of smoke to round out the flavor profile. These are very young vines (planted in 1989) - eager to see how the wines will change as the vines mature.
