Private Reserve Georges de Latour Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

Still quite young and the oak is prominent, but this is classic Napa and paired perfectly with my wife's famous braised short ribs.

Past its prime but still interesting.

The 96 is just off the chart good right now. Tasted through 6 vintages today working on a dinner for next week and this wine stunned. Near perfection and just entering the drinking window now. If you own this, get one out now!

Old school Napa Cab. Took some time to open up, but showed well. Lots of dark fruit, prune, cherry, and cassis. Tobacco, leather and cedar notes. A tart start, a little lean on the mid palate, but a clean finish. All around, a well put together wine. Stay thirsty my friends!🍷

1996 vintage held up superb; earthy initial aroma of tobacco leaf - beautiful light Fig with developed fruit - decanted and aerated

Funky nose, prunes, grass, and slightly oxidized. Past its prime.

Really enjoyable. Still some rich dark fruit, anise, cedar...clean and velvety; balanced lingering, smooth and rewarding finish. Nice.
