Beau Vigne
Romeo Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Deep Ruby color with aromas of dark berry fruits, oak and floral notes. On the palate flavors of blackberry, cherry and plums with tobacco and herb spice. Firm grippy tannins, medium+ finish ending with fruit, oak, spice and mineral character. Ok but Juliet better!

Oct 10th, 2019After visiting a few years ago and picking up a few bottles, I wanted to see how this was showing since many ‘14s are in a great spot right now.
This was arguably better at pop and pour than it was an hour in. Very perfumed with sweet baking spices (vanilla, cinnamon) and baked mixed berry pie (lots of sweet blueberries and blackberries). Dusty too with cassis and graphite. In time, it turned more red fruit dominant on the palate alongside sandalwood, cocoa, clay and spiced black cherry liqueur. Rich, smooth but enough structure to keep improving. A friend wanted a juicy, balanced Napa cab and this fit the bill nicely.

Another outstanding offering from Beau Vigne.
Nose is flamboyant with maple syrup, sweet oak, coffee and luscious black cherries. On the palette, you're left with the impression that so much flavor has been jammed into the bottle! Tannins are prominent, regal and ripe. Sweet and expansive ending to what is a glorious example. This will evolve to an even better place in time. If you have em In your cellar, leave em be for another two years. Your patience will be rewarded.
@Martin G Rivard thank you for the gift my friend.

1 person found it helpfulDec 9th, 2016Shakespeare describes the ignorance of youth as "salad days," when we are green in judgement. I feel the Wine Nerd Herd has certainly broadened my horizons, and not just from a wine perspective. I reflect on the uncommon generosity and hospitality, evidenced by our upcoming tasting in Florida, courtesy of @Martin G Rivard.
But at the heart of this event is wine and new friendships. Wine forms a bridge that connects people who were once strangers. For me, metaphorically, it's friendship in a bottle. That is also what this bottle represented to us - thank you Martin.
Another outstanding effort from BV. It's deep and rich, yet totally accessible. Very appealing. Along with Bevan, Arkenstone, Lail, Realm and others, BV has further opened our eyes to the world of wine, and our new friends.

Dec 3rd, 2016I definitely preferred Juliet. It is softer and a little bit more elegant. 'Romeo is a great daily drinker. Pop & pour type on f wine. My favorite line from Ed Snider is definitely his guest cottage, reserve and estate. That it is perfect trifecta!.
