Another 4th Friday for the books, and one of the best of the year!

I can’t remember if I got this at my winery visit last year or if this was another gift from the man himself,
@Martin G Rivard , but I do know that I only know about Beau Vigne because of Martin! Either way, thank you!

If I had smelled and tasted this blind, I would have called this a Bevan Cabernet. It is an iron fist in a velvet glove. It’s explosive out of the glass with baked blackberry pie, blueberry, sandalwood and chocolate shavings. Expansive on the palate and you think it’s going to overpower you, but it tones everything down for a silky and velvet textured finish. The palate goes more dark red fruit and black fruit with toasted oak. This is a BIG wine, but it’s no doubt very delicious.

Fruit-forward nose supported with light oak and spices. The palate displays the typical depth and texture I’ve come to expect from this producer. Decadently sweet mid-palate, finishing lithe, with tobacco and detectable musky notes. We caught this just in time.
A super gift from my bud
@Martin G Rivard. Thanks so much, Martin!!!

Had a little glitch from the app so I couldn’t post for a bit. Solved by updating the app and James at Vinous replied to my email immediately. He must be a boob man!! This bottle was pure hedonism. Thick, dark and brawny. Still primary but going to all good places. This winery was my find of 2017 thanks to @Martin G Rivard the South Florida insurance billionaire

3rd wine if the night last night: last but not least by any means. Ed Snyder is a freaking Rock Star in Napa. Shelling out Hit after Hit after Hit. This isn't Frederic Chopin....., it's AC/DC's Back in Black!!
Big., bold., unafraid and unapologetic! I love the Dark chocolate notes, dark fruit, spice & a touch of grafite. It's always a hit for me & Ed Snyder is an awesome guy to boot!

Happy Fourth of July!!! 🇺🇸
@Sean Ballington decided to open up a 2009 South African Cabernet, so we decided to open up this beautiful 2009 from @TheSkip. Stunning wine and thank you for sharing!! Cheers 🍷🍷🍷

Deep ruby core with garnet edges. Dark layered nose with lots of black cherries, blueberries, cassis, graphite, dark cocoa and more sweet spices. Heavy tannins (7/10) and full bodied. Layered palate with notes of dark gravel, blackberries, a touch blue, and solid spices. Long and lingering finish. Drink till 2024.
