A good Tassy Chardonnay. This wine is proof that the same grapes worked by different minds give very very different results. Tasted against our '13 TPV CHD which IMO blew it out of the water.

Sep 17th, 2015Terrific reminder of the beauty of tassie chard; top notch white nectarine melon and pear. With flinty, talcy minerality on palate.

Jul 21st, 2014My fellow Chardy lovers, listen up ๐ง
I was recently sent this sample (thank you) of the the Bay of Fires 2019 Chardonnay from Tassie and itโs bloody delicious!
We actually visited Bay of Fires on our Tassie trip last year (yep back when you could travel ๐ฅบ) so this bottle brought back some lovely memories for us ๐
This is a new vintage release and has spent time in French oak.
In the glass itโs like sunshine. While on the nose itโs infused with vanilla and creamy lemon curd with a sprinkling of spiced peaches. Itโs smooth and juicy in the mouth with lovely bright grapefruit acidity that intertwines with the peach and nectarine flavours. Mmmm ๐คค
This wine was sent to me as a sample, I was under no obligation to post about it.
All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective & always evolving, so make sure you drink what you enjoy!

Oh how I love Chardonnay ๐ This cool climate 2016 Bay of Fires Chardy comes from Tasmania and retails for approximately $50 per bottle. What a way to spend a night!
Itโs a soft golden yellow colour in the glass with a lovely bouquet of fresh peaches, lemon butter and creamy French oak. In the mouth the silky smooth texture had my taste buds dancing with pleasure. Flavours of nectarine, grapefruit and a touch of apricot made this wine a wonderful experience in the glass. Delish!

Jul 26th, 2021Completely different wine warmed up a bit. Full in body but not too over-oaked. Melon, cashew, apricot and a hint of minerality. Creamy mouthfeel, long finish
