Consistent with previous notes. Pale crimson in colour - almost transparent. Aromatic red cherry and forest floor on nose. Palate showing sweet red fruits and some whole bunch notes - more sappy than fruity. Showing better than recent tastings. The following night a stewed fruit character with root vegetables like beetroot.

Jun 26th, 2020This is my first 2012 Estate (3rd ranked in the Bass Phillip suite of Pinot Noirs) from 6 bottles purchased. Light to mid crimson in colour. Oak notes of honeycomb and varnish along with stewed fruits. A lovely sweet and savoury palate showing those rhubarb stewed fruits. Unmistakably Bass Phillip. A product of long time biodynamics and ultra close planting gives a palate staining intensity defying the pale colour.
