As usual, Vito brought out an interesting bottle. This Barbaresco was well aged: very dark flavor with mineral throughout. The finish was one of the longest I had ever tasted.

May 17th, 2017I would love to know the story of this wine. The cork had almost no stain from the Nebbiolo! Which is shocking, so my guess is that this is the left over or blend from a ton of the larger wineries in Piedmont. The wine is actually pretty good. I do not get the usual floral notes, but good minerality and dark red fruit. I'd be interested to put this up against some produttori or other from 2005 to see if it holds up.
