A little on the sweet side but good summer Saturday wine

May 17th, 2020Light peach and flower fragrances on the nose. Medium-bodied with very pale chrysanthemum color and then follows by fresh flavors of lemon and pear on the palate. A bit expensive when comparing price/quality ratio, but paired well with western stule cooked scallop.

Jul 17th, 2018Had to get @Delectable Wine to add this manually so I believe this is a new bottling from Barone Ricasoli. Purchased at the winery, this is a fascinating blend of Sauv Blanc, Chard, and Malvasia made in an immediate style (quick cold maceration, no wood). Nose of peach, white flowers and slate. Palate adds some green melon and apricot pit. Zingy acidity and a long mineral finish. Under the Tuscan Sun...not the book but real life!
