This is a classic Brunello with a traditional character , on the nose classic notes of grilled brown bread , black pepper , black raisin , dried blueberry , black cherries ,ash, balsamic, coffee and spicy oak , medium body, color showed signed of aging and finish, is full of espresso and dark fruit. My score 88, drink to 2020

Garnet. Blackberry, coffee (oaky). Dry, mid to mid+ acidity. Dissolved tannin. Thought Bordeaux but Brunello. Not so much concentration like 04, 06 nor 07 and not high acidity like 05. Didn't know 09 has well grained tannin.

If you want an easy crowd pleasing Brunello... Get this. If you want a really great brunello ask a somm to pick you out a better one.

Not really a typical Brunello. We had a hard time blind tasting this wine. It had lots of manure notes, med bodied and high acidity that could be confused with a Burgundy Pinot Noir. 2009

This is one of the handful of vintages that benefit from new investments to the crush pad and grape processing areas. This 2009 vintage gives a soft texture and bright inviting acidity that makes it more generous earlier in life. The espresso, new leather, and tobacco leaf all carry through until the finish.

In edge part, light garnet color making me feel it's brunello with ripened nuance, really impressive. It takes a bit longer time for decanting, 2 hours is necessary? Oak aroma with black currant flavor. Good balance for acidity and tannin. But still young, even after 2 hours, having much acid, it would be better to wait for five years. @5216, Tuscany-TH, 161229-170204

Needs another year or two for optimal showing. Nice wine.
