Cirò Rosso Classico Superiore Aris Gaglioppo

Really good. Long, complex, lingering. Roasted tomatoes and ripe strawberries, with a meatiness. Is there another medium bodied wine with so much raw power?

Cassis, rustic, tannic. Ripe. Bit hot. Low acid.

Not made from sun dried grapes. A wine crying for food with a nose suggesting wax, honey but also dried plums and figs, spices and cedar wood. The palate would tend towards an Amarone/passito style but in a drier version. Can look odd for some consumers but will reveal itself with food such as a Grilled Land shoulder with couscous pruneaux and apricots.

Crazy pulpy light red ciro but big firm backbone of tannin that catches you off guard

Gross. Al burn. No balance. Maybe if Al was closer to 12%, could have been good.

Lighter looking wine but a lot of red fruit, earth, leather and salt

Hot fruity nose. Strawberry and pine. Tight tannins. Medium finish.

Copper, rust, a little oaky.

Tannic, honey florals, jammy, I liked, Robb didn't- better with food
