Mix of medium garnet and brick red. Lovely and intense nose with layers of spices, earthiness, cherries, dusty and a light touch of sweet spices. Heavy tannins (7/10) and medium plus to full bodied. Long and lingering finish with layers of roses, more floral characteristics, earthiness and lots of cherries. Drink till 2028.

Holiday party fun: love this wine. Well balanced with fruit, floral notes with the menthol and a little smoke. Very complex feels like it is hitting stride. Fills the whole palate. Wish I had some pasta.

Had opened for 12 hours using Audouze method. Softened it considerably and yet could have used much more time. Quite large, a heavy use of oak...a lot going on but not typical of barolo. Next bottle in 2019.
