Super dry and missing the fruit that it had in its youth. Needs airtime and rich food

This definitely needed about 45 mins to breath. Once it opened up it was smooth and filled with spice and a bit of white pepper on the nose, with dark fruit tastes. I wish we would have let it breathe even longer before serving. It seems like we missed the best parts.

Not as fruity as I remember but solid wine. Needs food to really absorb it.

Dried fig, orange peel, mushroom, earth. Nuanced nose, with appreciable non-fruit character. Cherry and orange zest carry forward. Dried to finish with softening tannins.

Fruit and spice, elegant power, smooth tannins. What a pleasure.

Awesome Brunero with great fruit

2013. Has lost its fruit (could tell even when decanting). HAD TO RETURN. A shame for a 2013 Brunello, but probably explains why it’s on sale everywhere. $33 at Vine Republic on sale.
