Such an amazing wine. Nose is soaring with almost hallucinogenic levels of spice and tobacco. Such a wide spectrum. So good. Dried roses. Some cherry peeking through. Sweet spices coming through as well. Juicy and tannic but man oh man is this concentrated, fierce and burly but all in proper balance. What a finish. Huge tannins but air will mellow. I’ll be back.
Wow after a day open this is completely harmonious like an orb on the palate and has that super elegance that is rare in Ghemme. 9.5 to 9.6.

Simply put this is the best Ghemme I have ever had. Stunning nose of florals, mid season cherries and tar. So pretty and refined. Gorgeous. Unreal spice and clarity. 9.6 nose. Just stunning. Palate is so silky and refined. Super nimble, sappy and pure. Amazing structure and purity. Sweet but barely sweet and lovely cascading sweet tannins and fruit. Exceptional length and so juicy. This is a genius wine. My goodness. So much more forward than previous bottles.

Jan 24th, 2023Ahh this is a sick wine and maybe the best Ghemme I’ve ever had. A field of fresh mid cherries with rose petals blowing on top. So vibrant and bright. Some darker, riper cherries as well but man are they pretty and vivid. Palate is hyper elegant and has those big ghemme tannins but they are super refined and sweet. This is long. Really long and the delicacy and refinement are transcendent. Nose gets spice and mineral as it aerates. The fruit is so well defined. Very very red. Superb freshness and just so complete. This is a masterful wine. Very special and first Riserva since 2008 at Miru.

Jul 3rd, 2021What a nose. First Riserva at Miru since 2008! What a nose. Wow. Sick. Holy shit. Ethereal cherries like nothing you’ve ever smelled before. Leather and glorious spice. Roses and tar. It’s so detailed and the clarity is off the charts. Wow. I’m really blown away as this Ghemme is on another level. Moss, Sous bois, minerals. Mulch. So complex and haunting. Volnay meets Ghemme. What a palate. Sick. Sweet cherry fruit. Mid season and some sour cherries. Amazing clarity to the fruit. Sick sweetness. So so elegant. This is the best Ghemme I’ve ever had. What sweet and velvety tannins and such purity. This is amazing. So balanced, so fresh, so energetic and deep. The finish hits every nook and cranny. The finesse is top top notch. Mindblowing wine and it hasn’t even aired out yet. So juicy. So refined for a Ghemme but has a certain rusticity as well but even that is refined. This is a benchmark.
After air this is dizzying. Loads of deep spice and cherries. Minerals. Cherry cough drop. So aromatic. Wow. Leather. Like saddle leather. Palate has loads of sweet fruit and amazing tannins. So juicy. So refined and gentle for a Ghemme.
