Nèstri Colli Orientali del Friuli Merlot Blend

Wowsers! Now this is Real rustic friulano merlot...a 11' that reminded me of pigs and chickens and cherries. Pretty extreme stuff, not for the faint hearts of new worlders. Went well with Gorgonzola ravioli. On day two the cherry fruit surfaced nicely from the manure...kind of like mushrooms!

Poured from a magnum. Tastes like tart dirty cherries.

Bretty, tart and fresh red fruits, tar, gardenia and violets. Slight black pepper. Balanced and lovely as ever. 2008 is showing nicely; needs more time.

Quick save for later reflection - Merlot and refosco. Earthy, really heady evolving herbal component, root veg and dill, oregano, tart red cherry, cranberry subtle tannins on front of palate

Beautiful red fruit and minerals.

Fascinating stuff. Fruity nose, super-expressive, dark red fruit. Wild, smoky & long finish. High rating for the surprise element

Very nice merlot blend. Dark lush fruit, minerality, decent acidity. Fantastic nose. Screams "I'm Italian"
