Volcano juice! Wild cherries with plenty of earthy notes and a delicious smokiness. I’m having this with salmon with anchovy-garlic butter and it is an outstanding match. On a side note, this is an easy recipe from the New York Times.

Red currant and sour cherry - and I know everyone else is getting ash, but we're going to go with graphite. Tannins still quite present, but lovely. Would love to see how this is in a decade, tho super now!

Dark cherry, wild blackberry, tar, scorched earth, oak. A bit hot with lingering tannins on the finish.

Sexy, cherry skin, smoke, incense and Asian spice on the nose, builds intensity on the palate, with wound up tannin, high pitched acid that lead to rose petal, liquid minerals and a very-Piedmontese-esque young Barolo je ne sais quoi

Tar and ash. New oak definitely present but subsides after decanting. Good for aging but pretty delicious now.
