A frothy & effervescent styled Nero D’Avola, vintner son of pedigreed maker. Enjoyable, but the age didn’t seem to deepen its flavours- if anything, at year 7, they’ve stayed the same, which I suppose is testimony to its good construction but in a different way. Wild blackberry, sour plum skin, black currants.

2nd bottle tasted. Starting to fill out. Perky & almost frothy, not what I expect from Nero D’avola. Im sensing echoes of Occipinti

Bought a 3 pack on the assumption would try some medium age cellaring. At 5yrs young now, still a colt & has much youthful bright purple & black fruits to offer, almost frizzante like it went through carbonic maceration (No idea if it did). Would pair well with similarly vibrant food. Son of well known iconic Umbrian producer.

First time drinking this wine; a relatively new (old) project in Sicily with guidance from Giampiero Bea. This is a brand new release and tasting like it. Extremely primary right now; all fresh blackberries and raspberries. Almost has a carbonic quality to it. The tannin monster starts to show up after about an hour of air. Curious how these will age...but probably best to drink in the relative new term? Really delightful and a hit with HRH. It was also a killer combo with roasted chicken and polenta.

Some tobacco. Nice tannin level, well balanced.

Was very excited to try this wine and it was good but not as complex as I expected. Big blue and red fruits, some dizziness at the top, nice earth at the end, but eventually tasted like one big berry.

Funky & wild. Blackberry, plum, garrigue. High acid, softening tannins, long finish. A bit hollow in the cheeks. Best with food.
