Excellent Chianti, smooth as a baby’s butt. Still a tad tannic, lots of cigar and iodine. 2 years (2025) then drink away.

Utterly delicious, the young 2016 Chianti Classico from Fontodi is by far the most memorable wine I’ve had from this region to date.

Sporting a translucent ruby robe, it’s bright, vibrant, with lots of smokey dark cherry, blackberry, and cedar; very pure and with a strong grip of iron.

Very high acidity / tannin. Long, dry, sumptuous finish.

Can’t wait to try this again.

Can’t put this one down.... beautiful nose of dried rose pedal, dusty rainer cherry, coco bean. Earthy. Juicy blackcherry fruit bounds on the palate accented by espresso and cedar box. Cranberry too. Outstanding length with soft, persistent tannins. Great now, only better with cellar age.

Old school Chianti Classico! Needs a bit of air and it still didn’t open up much as dinner progressed. Great dried purple flower notes and hints of dried red fruit. Probably worth revisiting in a couple of years or finding a bottle with a bit more age.

Mörk frukt och relativt mycket stall och läder. Medium kropp med lite surt och beskt avslut

Dark, almost black and opaque. The French oak is noticeable but in check by lovely ripe fruit. Palate is not terribly long, but that’s ok here. Lovely now with long drinking window ahead. Heavy sediment even at this early age. Very good value.

Relativt hög syra lite fat och körsbär. Saknar lite botten. Blev bättre med bolognese som också hade hög syra. En flaska kvar

Love this; savoury, balanced, complex; tobacco, almonds, cherries, leather...plenty of acidity for grip and food friendliness and tannin for backbone.
