Bursts from the bottle with heady aromas of red and blue fruit and violets, and something like candle wax. The aroma alone is worth the trip. Fascinating to taste the distinct terroir of a single vineyard, so typically Barolo but with its own nuances and idiosyncrasies- oak is more evident on the palate than the nose, but does not overpower the fruit and mineral body. Still dark and youthful in colour and flavour, with long life ahead, likely to just get better.
