Where the Rocche cru is elegant and full of finesse, this is powerful and dense. More ripeness fruit, more grip, more power. Iron, blood like minerality.

Mar 25th, 2016A distinctly roasted fruit quality, especially on the nose. Got to try another vintage.

Dec 11th, 20162009 vintage at Trullo in Islington. Pale ruby bright hue. On the nose, floral and red cherry profile, earthy and tar. Very good. On the palate, bright piercing acidity, medium plus alcohol, high slightly chalky tannins, medium minus body, medium plus concentration and finish. Good fruit. Still young but drinking early. Sweet on the tail end of the wine. Very moreish. Drink now until 2024.
