Azelia
Barolo Nebbiolo
The 2014 Azelia is a bit of a departure from the fantastic 2013 version. While still very high quality, this didn’t have quite the power and complexity, nor was it as fun. Dark cherry fruit and tar with a bit of a burnt rubber thing that took me a bit by surprise. Tannic. On its own, this may have shown better but the 2005 Giovanni Rosso “Cerretta” that we drank just before was sensational. Drink now or through 2024.
