The 2014 Azelia is a bit of a departure from the fantastic 2013 version. While still very high quality, this didn’t have quite the power and complexity, nor was it as fun. Dark cherry fruit and tar with a bit of a burnt rubber thing that took me a bit by surprise. Tannic. On its own, this may have shown better but the 2005 Giovanni Rosso “Cerretta” that we drank just before was sensational. Drink now or through 2024.

Celebrating 16th anniversary of being together in San Diego. Delicious food, good wine, great weather, and the optimism that despite our lease getting terminated we can find a better place to live!
