Signature sweet lemon cream on the nose with crushed rock and grilled pear. Lemon peel and citrus on the palate...not as powerful as their Lauren or CIX maybe, but more heft here than Hudson and Larry Hyde. Fantastic, as expected.

I really like the new SVDs from Aubert--Sugar Shack, Eastside and CIX--this one is pretty young though. It has all the elements but it hasn't quite bloomed yet. Slightly fat and a tad sweet and tight. I'd hold and be rewarded later.

Wine of the Day/Night. Great Aubert Sugar Shack Vineyard 2013. Very close to the 2012. Out of a MAGNUM too. The 13 has it all . Rich creamy, buttery with wonderful balance and acidity. The added acidity this vintage compared to past 12 gives this Chard more structure and balance. Weekend bash with Larry,Dr Bob, Dr Tony, Jim M, Marty Antimo and all there wives and girlfriends. Bravo 99+. CB

Heavy fragrance of tropical fruit and blossoms, a hint of honeysuckle. Zesty acidity on the palate immediately after opening... diminishes with time in the glass. In the end, gorgeous lemon cream. Can’t believe this is a 2013! Wish I had a case of it!

Sep 2nd, 2018An incredibly balanced chard. This one crushed a 2010 Kistler Kistler Cuvee Cathleen quite easily. This nose is very complex and quite aromatic. Limestone, melon, mango nose. Peach, mango middle. The finish on this wine just goes and goes. I've been lucky enough to have four 2013 Aubert wines all within the last 1-2 years, and this one by far is my favorite (Yes, it beats the Larry Hyde although I'm rating it the same). REALLY close to a 96 IMO.
