Big and powerful. A lot of mid palate depth, leaning tropical in fruit tones.

Wednesday Wine Committee hosted by Dan. 1 sparkler, 3 whites, 4 reds and 1 dessert wine. Tasted blind as usual.

I guessed the producer was Aubert based on the power but also based on the signature sweet lemon cream notes. It didn’t have the Ritchie “nuttiness” I traditionally get, but it evolved more in the glass. More elegant than other Aubert chards and certainly less acidity. Lemon confit, marzipan, caramel apple.

Weston hosted Friday group today and was it definitely a can’t miss tasting. Wow! Absolutely knocked it out of the park with heavy hitter after heavy hitter. Similar to Wednesday group, all wines are tasted blind.

I really enjoy Ritchie chards, and was actually able to blindly guess this was from Ritchie vineyard. I always get a nuttiness and waxy finish from this vineyard. Happens every time. Bigger texture. You aren’t mistaking this for anything other than Cali chard, and it will almost always be from a top producer.

A very big wine that was more pleasant over time. The time allowed the wood notes to back off.

Highly unusual and intriguing. Flinty, lemon lime aromas, rich mouth feel, well balanced. Beautiful wine.

Citrus nose with a distinct flintiness, very unique yet intriguing aroma. Palate richness is second to none. Wow.

Full throttled Chardonnay from Aubert. Orchard fruits and very aromatic. Drinking well now...no reason to wait.
