Larry Hyde & Sons Chardonnay

Brief tasting notes from the annual Fort Worth Food & Wine Festival. Whites knocked it out of the park this year.

Was kind of shocked a wine of this caliber would be at a mass tasting. Figured it would be one of their appellation wines...imagine my surprise when I saw it was their LH&S! 2016...BABY. Almost a sin to drink these this young, but this drank better than other young Aubert’s I’ve had. Laser focused minerality, lemon tart, lemon cream, toasted almonds.

Aubert never disappoints. This is delicious. Orange peel, ginger, and lychee. Still partial to their Lauren, CIX, and Eastside wines, but this is great.

Another nice Chard from Aubert, pears, peaches , full alcohol

Good but not great. I think I enjoy the other Aubert Chardonnays better.

Sooo good. Needed to open a second bottle

Just going to give the obligatory and warranted “this shit is amazing!”

Better while cold, as it gets a little goopy as it warms up, good for the style I suppose.
