A few fun bottles from last Friday.
This only solidified my thought that Aubert’s Hudson chard is best enjoyed closer to release than their other single vineyard designates. Yellow fruit, powdered sugar lemon bar, and a “juicy fruit” note I commonly associate with Peter Michael chards. Great mouthfeel thanks to rich viscosity and enough acidity to keep it entertaining. Wow, I love this! It’s all about lemons. Every sip conjures up a new thought about lemon - lemon zest, lemon curd, lemon drops, and lemon meringue pie just to name a few. At the same time it has a gorgeous creaminess on the palate to soften the acidity. Just a lovely wine.
