Fun Friday evening with great wines.
This surprised me at how good it was. Then again, I don’t get to enjoy older Aubert Pinot very often. Normally, Aubert pinots are powerhouses of flavor, but I wonder if the cool/wet vintage of ‘11 dialed things back a bit in a good way. Very perfumed and floral. Black cherries, rose petals, and sandalwood aromatics. Great acidity on the palate with red and black fruits (and even a hint of blueberries), baking spices and cedar. These may be best with some age on them. Thanks @Keith Fisher .

Wow. This is really showing well. Decanted about 90 minutes. The nose is intoxicating; black cherry, black raspberry, cola, rich black soil, charcoal. A solid, intense core of fruit yet very well balanced. Really great stony minerals and firm tannins provide awesome structure. This will continue to get better with additional age.

A treat to enjoy Aubert’s CIX Pinot with some age to it. The fruit is so fresh and aromatic...overripe dark red fruit with underripe black fruit. I got a rich/sweet note on the mid palate...cinnamon. I think this was your bottle, @David L ? Great stuff.

12' Aubert CIX Pinot Noir. Pull the cork 90 minutes before pouring ... this one is special! Extraordinary effort by Mark. Highly recommend. Drink/ Hold.

Restrained for an Aubert and/or well integrated. Ripe red fruit, some oak and still generally powerful for a Pinot. Overall pretty balanced and a nice wine.

First of 2 Aubert Pinot Noir from CIX in different years on same night. How can someone get so lucky. Great Friends this bottle Larry M! Awesome fruit loaded with plum, and intense blackberries. Soft tannin. Flavors that just got better and better all night. WOW a 98 in my book. Thanks Aubert! CB 2013 vintage

Dec 6th, 2016Yes Sir a Magnum of 2014 CIX brought by myself for all our friends for end of year dinner. Even a touch better than 2013 on same night.,CB 99+-! You decide! Gorgeous fruits of black cherries and plum. A touch of soft tannin structure with bright acidity level!!! Big thing here is Great Sharing Wine from a #Magnum! with our wine group!! 2014 Magnum Aubert at its Best! Thanks Aubert! Also note Thanks Cliff M. You know who you are! 2014!!!!!
