Tonights wine I have opened is the 2012 Au Bon Climat Santa Barbara County Chardonnay.

On the nose I am finding notes of lemon, giava, apricots, pear, vanilla, and good minerality.

On the palate there is lemon, papaya, apricot, baked apple, coconut, butter and a good dose of minerals.

This wine is medium bodied with good structure that is complex and has a rich viscous mouthfeel, high acidity with even being 9 years of age that leads right into a long crisp tropical fruit mineral finish. Have a great week and please be safe and healthy. Nostrovia! 🥂🥂🥂🥂

One cans easily confuse this beauty with a Burgundy grand cru, fragrant nose creamy but not too buttery, nutty, citrus notes, oily with a long and complex finish. Well done Jim Clendenen, you make me love Cali Chardonnay!

"The white for red drinkers".
Excellent oak notes, vanilla spice, acidity of a Pinot noir

Tonight I am trying the 2012 Au Bon Climat Chardonnay. I have been amazed by Winemaker Jim Clendenen's Pinot Noir's so I though I should try his Chardonnay and I am glad I did. On the nose I get citrus notes, apple, peach and a nice butterscotch essences. On the palate again there is the citrus, apricot, apple, stone fruit and a ver nice acidity. There is a smooth creamy mouth feel and a medium + finish. Jim Clendenen ceases to amaze me. I bought this for $18.99 and is worth every penny.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Great balance and deliciousness.
