Steely, buttery and has taken on a bit of an oceanic quality, A bit transitional, moving from secondary to tertiary qualities, but still good.

Singing. Butterscotch candy and sourdough crust nose. Steely. A little sweetness balanced by great acidity. Oaky vanilla flavors. Sublime chardonnay with an unbelievably long finish.

In your face Chardonnay. Lemon core, orange peel, sprinkle in a bit of vanilla bean. Striking fresh acidity.
It’s got a decade plus in it. Under $35 , this Chardonnay will only get better with a little more time in the bottle. Looking forward to opening my 2015’s 😉

Honeydew, pear, lemon, nutmeg, mallow. Acid lingers nicely and so does a richer waxy feel

I don’t drink much Chardonnay. This was a very pleasant one. High acidity, citrus peel on the nose and great structure. Some evidence of new oak, but nothing over the top.

100% Chardonnay

Medium straw color. Fresh, clear, and transparent.

Sophisticated bouquet showing more restrained fruit profile backed up by clear stone-y/minerally characters.

Structurally, this wine is not as robust as the Los Alamos bottling tasted alongside of it. Med to med low acidity, med body (13.5 abv), dry. Reserved fruit profile of Asian pear and yellow apple. A hint of oak spices such as thyme and cilantro. Pronounced mineral, almost saline notes.

This bottling is rather flat when compared with the Los Alamos. Jim Clendenen said he intentionally made this in a "non-fruit" style that he prefers. Need at least 7 years before this is ready for business. 90+.
