2012: made from 30+ year old Mendoza clone vines, partially barrel fermented in french oak (25% new), wild yeast, partial MLF, aged in barrel for 9 months. Epitome of elegance, and oak is a real minor player here. Floral, fragrant, chalky, with green apple, white peach and a hint of cream. Built around its acidity, light to medium bodied. Delicious

Beautiful wine from the Pinot masters. Weight and richness, white peach and hints of brûlée. But the acid and structure are superb. Almost Meursault like in its presence. We loved this wine.

2013: very deft and delicate, with a chalky stony mineral vein. Very elegant with gentle Apple notes, pure Chardonnay style somewhat reminiscent of a Chablis 1er Cru. Very complete, harmiounous, with fresh vibrancy, minerality, and very clean style. Delicious but needs a few years.

Finding a Chablis nose on 2012 is encouraging. Gorgeous acidity and minerality for a Mendoza clone in New Zealand.

A good benchmark NZ cool climate Chardonnay always well made not over Oaken or to fruit driven mostly citrus and grapefruit balanced with good acidity
