It is. It's the primary note I get along with that tar/rose stuff you usually get, just in a more subdued way. It burns hot going down though, so while this is a good wine, it's not THAT good, if that makes sense.

Lovely light crimson color with a brick edge. Aroma is floral red rose with a unique dark berry element in there too. Flavors are supple and tart. Starts soft, but grows to something complex and a little gamey. Plenty of acid. A solid food wine. Nice stuff.
