Inky dark in color. The nose is crushed cranberry, tobacco leaf, dark cherry, rosemary, sage, and thyme with a hint of barnyard funk. The palate is dark cherry, cinnamon, clove, American oak, black pepper, and bitters. Medium plus tannins, high alcohol, and high acid. A big, masculine, spicy wine that should match well with cured jamon, rich sausages, lamb, and gamey red meats.
