For some reason I am tasting lots of Sonoma wines recently and they all don’t disappoint. Very balanced wine, easy to drink and fairly priced. This one was from 2014

Fruit forward - dark cherry, rhubarb, strawberry jam, cranberry, with some tobacco and leather. Medium acid in the finish with the leather notes lingering. Recommend decanting, as it did open up after a while.

On the nose (medicinal) cherries, minerality, molasses, and cedar. On the palate jammy, yet not overly so, with relatively balanced plums, blackberries, and spices intertwined with plush tannins and a refreshing acidity.

The nose is fine, it’s structured with balanced fruit -very dark- and tannins across the tongue for the finish. It’s good, but not what I consider to be a good value.

Color of deep red. Nose is good with raisins, dried strawberries, vanilla sweetness, and a bit woody. Taste is thick and mouthful, with notes from dark fruits jam and milk chocolate, marginal tannins, clean yet dense, and tasty. Aftertaste shows some more spicy note and cocoa. Well done.
