What a pleasant surprise, for a 19 year old Sonoma Merlot to have anything left to offer. Thanks to careful cellaring done by my brother David Nelson, this bottle still had some dark fruit and woody notes, along with a nice acid structure. I don't drink much wine of this age, but this was a pleasant quaff with a slow cooked beef roast.
