May 29th, 2021Arkenstone have this juice on autopilot. Very well behaved. This vintage comes across like a coiled spring, with a slight underripe note. However, the core components are there waiting in the wings. Leave this for a little while.

Served a touch too warm, and as a result, came off a little flat and phenolic. Need to take another look at this - Nougatine, NYC.

May 12th, 2019Very impressive. Wifey is gushing over this. I’m also taken aback. This has all the right components. Coffee and spice and all things nice. Regal tannins which are deftly balanced, complemented with bright acidity. Their first wine must be on another level.

Apr 9th, 2019TGIF! Poking around trying to make room in the wine cooler for a new shipment and decided it was time for a big big Friday pizza wine after the Arnold Palmer Golf Classic. Arkenstone’s Cabernet Sauvignon has the right spice and fruit blend for the job. The NVD was young but opened up nicely very quickly. God bless winemaker Sam Kaplan!

Mar 9th, 2019My second time having this, and I feel confident in this rating. Been about a year since I’ve had it and whole time has benefited it, it’s about identical. One word to summarize...plush. Incredibly soft tannins, even at pop and pour. About an hour of bottle decanting benefited, but this is almost pop and pour. Blue and black fruit on the nose alongside Sweet fig and sandalwood. Nice texture. I’d enjoy these within the next 7 years.
