Gassy and microbiologically challenged. 90% Mandilaria and 10% Mavrotragano.

too new world for my taste

Primary Mandillaria with a small amount of Mavrotragano blended in. Quite aromatic with notes or red berries and plums, leather and sweet Asian spices. Flavors of red cherry, cranberry, black pepper, smoky minerals, dried herbs and tobacco. Slightly earthy/spicy touch on the medium-plus and smooth finish. Light bodied, acidic, bone dry and crisp. Soft texture and can handle being chilled.

Oh dear. Down the drain.

Greek Red Blend (90% Mandilaria and 10% Mavrotragano) from Santorini. Vines are basket pruned to protect the grapes. Barely anything on the nose. Fruit forward flavors of dark cherry, cranberry and plum. Hints of leather and earth. Spicy and toasty on the finish. Fine tannins but a bit astringent and tart (like vinegar) due to very high acidity levels. Medium bodied and interesting to try. Thank You-Ron B!

I was told not to try many red blends in Santorini but this is changing my mind! Very easy to drink while looking out to the caldera.

Medium body, well balanced, but didn't jump out at me. I'd rather have an Agiorgitiko.

Amazing!

Needed to breathe for about 10 min, but opened up nicely. Very dry with a spicy kick finish
